The Ben Nevis Climb
Well I did it! 6 and a half hours up and down, not a bad time for an old boy! My legs are feeling it now though, I must thank all of those that supported me through our Just Giving page, we raised just over £2,000 for St Clare Hospice which is amazing and I can’t thank everyone enough for the very kind and generous donations, well done everyone!

The Chilli Sausage Challenge In aid of St Clare Hospice
The 2016 Chilli Sausage Challenge is coming! Only 9 weeks until the ultimate chilli sausage challenge of the year. If you haven’t been to our hot event you ain’t lived! Every year serious chilli lovers gather in a field in Essex and put themselves through the pain barrier in the name of eating chilli bangers. We make the hottest sausages on the planet using some quite frankly unpleasantly hot Hybrid Chillis, with names such as Borg9, Carolina Reaper, Bhut Jolokia and Butch Scorpion and let them loose on the general public.
The event will again be held at The Queens Head Public House field in Churchgate Street Old Harlow. CM17 0JT from Midday on the 28th August, thats the last Bank holiday weekend so as to give you a day to recover!

So the countdown begins! The 28th of August is going to be a hot one and not necessarily just the weather.
We will be gathering from midday at The Queens Head Public house field in Old Harlow and seeing who’s got what it takes to eat the UK’s hottest sausages. This year again we have used the Carolina Reaper Chilli to make our bangers, The Reaper is currently rated as the hottest chilli on the planet at a Scoville rating of 1.6 million, how hot is that? Well to put it in proportion that’s 500 times hotter than Tabasco Sauce!
Every contestant will sit a preliminary round to eat just one chilli sausage, can’t be that hard huh? The fastest contestants will then be entered in to a final round at 6pm when they will be timed eating more chilli sausages, the person with the fastest combined times will win £300, second place will win £200 then third prize £100 as well as some professionally grown chilli plants and sauces supplied by the South Lincs Chilli Boys. Entry is £10, of which we make a donation to St Clare Hospice, for that you will get a quality T-Shirt and enough spicy bangers to shake a stick at!
There are lots of things to do on the day such as face painting, bouncy castle, Pimms Tent, outside beach bar, yard of ale comp, Belgian GP shown live, ice cream stall with live bands and as a treat we have a world renowned DJ doing a set later on in the evening.
